I first met Sue when she came with Nick to a large group dinner at Smollensky's on The Strand. We were all good friends and this was one of their early dates. I already knew Nick was smitten so, in a slightly over protective way, I asked her intentions. 

To say she gave as good as she got (as I was a little out of order to say the least) would be an understatement. As gently as possible and with a smile on her face she put me in my place. Called Nick over and, laughing, said "I expected to have to fight off any female friends but never did I expect to have to with your male ones!" Ha! Ha!

In one statement I realised that she was quite the character, a strong confident woman and someone who was certainly v interested in my dear friend! 

What a lady! Someone I grew to know well and was overjoyed to be present at their wedding. The most special person for a most special friend. 

Taken too soon, so sadly missed, so fondly remembered.
